whats the story with a lot of the late 80s front axle clamps breaking? mine has been repaired once on one side, before i got it, and a lot of the ones i see for sale have damage in the same area or have had previous repairs? was this common? what causes this, other than hitting an object?
the forks on my 604 are not adjustable externally, so i have been keeping an eye out for a newer set with clickers, but almost all of them have cracked, and or been fixed. will forks from a 605 slide into the clamps? and can i still use my wheel, brake, and axle? or if i upgrade to 605 forks, do i need to get a wheel, brake, and axle too?
