I just saw a guy looking for a conversion to another manufacturer for a counter shaft sprocket. It gave me an idea. Wouldn't a database right off the main bulletin board (like a sticky) of commonly used parts help a lot of people? As an example, I have several 406s, a 450(sort of), and a 605 which all use sprockets, brakes, discs, wheels, calipers, belts, cables, clutch plates, air filters, etc. etc. etc. If we could post up the information to cross- reference parts by ATK model others could see and add to the information. This would keep more of the bikes alive as people will know where to get parts. We could list the manufacturer, part#, approximate cost, address of vendor, and possibly a review as to the direct conversion of specific parts. Just throwing it out there. Smile

I agree 100%. As an example, the Rokon guys, both the Trailbreaker 2x2 and the 340 guys, have occasionally posted or contributed to lists/databases of such interchangeable, commonly available parts. HUGE benefit.

The moderator will have to approve and set up the format I suspect. Think of how it should be listed ie ATK model and years if appropriate for each section of the database. Next would be a generic list of commonly used parts in a list for each bike. Next to each item would be the crossover make, model, year, possibly part #, and vendor for each part. The moderator will have to have it easily accessible so that people will be able to find information. Update to the database will probably have to go through a central location possibly a PM to the moderator. If we think it through now it shouldn't be unmanageable and it will certainly be useful.

Not trying to stir anything up but I have thought this as well but isn't this site maintained by Frank (ATK) and they are trying to sell their parts right ? a lot bike forums I've been on do this with parts and share any help they can but it usually is not part of a manufactures site with a parts dept. ....... I'm all for it, any info and alternative / parts crossovers listings would be huge for the 2T & 4T aircooled owners ....... any conflict ? Confused
