I was looking at the new ATK's and I was just wondering what is the horsepower that you can get out of one of these machines I used to race a cannondale moto 440 back in 2002 and 2003 seasons in the atv mx nationals i have my motor built by dustin lunde from south bay moto he sponsored me for the pro am class the bike was fast but wasnt much faster then a stock 450 i just sold my honda trx 450r which was ama legal for production class and was dynoed at 69 horsepower is it possible to get an atk to pull that kind of power im looking to race nationals in the near future again and i felt great on a cannondale so an atk might be my next purchase to race nationals in the production a or pro am production class

There is a bunch of guys on the Cannondaler website in the forums that know everything about these quads. They will be able to get you plenty of horsepower.

70hp is REALLY pushing it with a cannondale/atk, unless your using a NOS boost.
60-65 is more realistic, but i won't trust it to hold together for a complete weekend of MX racing. drag racing 1/8mile spirts would be fine though. |

I have an 06 trx 450r. I has around 40 hp stock mine has LRD exhaust, stage one crf hotcam and rejetted the carb. Im guessing 6-10 hp gain with what Ive done to my motor. Your claiming around 70 hp out of yours and you say stock. I would like to know what is done to your motor because I would love to get that much hp out of mine. Ive never heard of a 450 putting out the kind of horsepower. Im looking to redo mine of the winter so maybe advice on what parts to use. Thank you

I would guess 70 hp. is a way over exaggeration. Unless you have a big bore kit, running 14 to 1 compression with alot of head work and then 70 you could not get and be reliable. Sounds like a story about the same as someone saying there yz 80 will run 100 mph.
